Beeswax is a natural wax produced by honey bees. It has been used since prehistory as the first plastic, as a lubricant and waterproofing agent. Beeswax candles actually work to purify the air instead of polluting it as beeswax emits negative ions when it is burned. Negative ions are effective at reducing dust and odours as dust and pollen have positive ions as well as reduce dander and mould that float in the air we breathe so it's helpful for hayfever sufferers
Unlike soy, palm and paraffin wax, beeswax is used in its natural raw state so no additional chemical released into the air. This is important if you have allergies or asthma
Beeswax candles give off a non-toxic, hypo-allergenic, subtle fragrance of a mixture of honey and the nectar of the flowers in the honeycomb.
