Stress affects everyone differently; muscular tension is a common trigger for headaches as neck tension can be caused by awkward sitting positions or driving positions; even headsets and mobile phone use can cause the muscles of the back and neck to over stretch or shorten causing pain.

Massage has been known to alleviate muscle tension and mental stress by relaxing mind and body. Massage helps to mobilise stiff joints, improve the flow of blood to injured areas, reduce muscular tension and chronic pain, reduce swelling & inflammation and reduce tension and stress.

We aim to provide relief to the aches and pains of the body and relax the mind, so, that mind and body can rejuvenate and begin to heal itself. We look at the body holistically ie the whole body mechanics and not just the area of discomfort.

About Me
I am an ITEC Qualified Holistic Massage Therapist since 2002. I originally trained at the International Academy of Health and Skincare in Capetown, South Africa. I then went on to practice my skills with various high-end luxury cruise lines, Spas and Gyms before settling down in Dover, UK

I am continually adding to my knowledge and specialist skillset by undertaking courses for professional development such as Specialist Training for Cancer Massage, Mcloughlin Scar Tissue Release and Pregnancy Massage and learning about innovations in the industry such as the Face Up Hydrotherm Massage and furthering my professional development with courses such as Masced Skin Care for the detection of Cancer on the skin so that I can provide the very best service to my clients and help soothe away aches & pains.

Soothicity Massages are a combination of various techniques which are adapted and tailored for each individual according to their needs. My clientele have massages as a way of maintaining health and well-being. We address pain management as a long term maintenance plan rather than a one off quick fix which isn't possible especially for chronic illness such as Fibromyalgia, CFS, Migraines, Plantar Fasciitis, Lower Back Pain or Neck and Shoulder Pain.

We use products that are natural with no chemicals or additives and we try where possible to use environmentally friendly options.

I will travel to Dover, Deal and Folkestone with no additional travel charge . We also have a Therapy Room in Dover.

Will you bring your own bed or will you need to set up in my bedroom?Yes. I will bring a full mobile massage couch with me. All I need is space to set up my portable massage couch and to be able to move around it. Most living rooms are big enough although sometimes furniture may need to be moved slightly. The beds are not as big as you think they are.
-
Will I need to lie on the floor? No, not at all. I will bring a portable massage bed with me, which I will set up in the comfort of your own home.
-
Do you have a Spa/Clinic that I can come and see you at?I can visit you in the comfort of your own home and bring all of my equipment with me or you may find coming to me more relaxing if you dont have sufficient space. You will notice a slight difference between my mobile pricing and Therapy Room pricing, this is because the overheads are higher. We do have a Therapy Room at 23 Worthington Street, DOVER which has been made COVID secure and we are able to offer specialist massages.
-
What do I need to prepare before you get here? Will I need to clean up?I am not looking at the state of your house so there is no need to apologise or rush around tidying up. My focus is your wellbeing and relaxation. So as long as you are clean and not fresh from a gym session I am happy to proceed, this is more for your comfort than ours. You can have your own music playing, if you feel that this would enhance the relaxation process.
-
Do I need to provide you with linen or towels?I will provide all the equipment such as a portable massage bed, towels and oils so all you do is relax. Due to COVID19 we are unable to provide additional blankets and pillows, we are happy for you to use your own additional blankets along with our sheets.
-
I have medical conditions. Will this affect my massage?Yes. Before the first session everyone completes a full intake form which includes medical history . As your therapist I may discuss or ask questions about certain answers you provided. I am not being nosy, this is so I can tailor make the session to your needs and fulfil your expectations.
-
What should I wear? For any massage, you will be asked to partially undress . Please wear comfortable clothing which is easy to put on as you may be disorientated from the massage when getting dressed. Many of my clients feel comfortable in their own dressing gowns/bathrobes.
-
How much pressure will you use and will it hurt? Each person is different and prefers a different amount of pressure. If during the massage you feel uncomfortable or it hurts, please just say so. I am there to make you feel better and to relax . Every body is unique and different so I can always adjust the amount of pressure, the area of focus and technique to accommodate you.

Why, when I'm getting a massage does my therapist work different muscles to the ones I'm having issues with?"Muscles are all over the body and link into one another. For example, a back massage may include a massage of the upper arms and upper chest depending on the issue or may include the glute muscles and upper thigh muscles. As your therapist I will discuss this with you. Full body massage includes as scalp massage ,massage of upper chest area and neck muscles as well as foot massage. Depending on your needs , the massage may also include some stretching to help bring the body in balance and relax muscle groups. Please do discuss any areas of concern before the massage starts.

I see that you do Massage at work. Can I book you to come to my office?Yes of course. I have special rates for visiting clients at work, This is usually for a set amount of time ie 4 hours and the employer decides how to structure the time ie 15min, 20min, 30min sessions However, you must first clear this with your HR Department or Manager, if they need to contact me for insurance information, please ask them to contact me via my e-mail address info@soothicity.co.uk

Can you do Charity Events, Marathons, Summer Fetes and Garden Parties?"Yes, I have already attended Charity Events. In fact I invested in my own Gazebo and Massage Chair specifically for outdoor Charity Events such as Summer Fetes. The Gazebo offers privacy to those receiving the massage, while the chair means that they can receive a Back, Neck & Shoulder Massage without the need to disrobe and lie down; we also have a recliner chair available for Head massage and/or Foot massage. I have found these options to be highly successful. I can either make a donation directly to your charity for my 'pitch' or alternatively offer you a proportion of my takings, provided that I may use your event to publicise my services. I am also not averse to the idea of offering chair massages at private Pamper Parties, Garden Parties or even Barbecues (BBQs), please contact me directly to discuss pricing for private parties. Contact me for any private party requests at info@soothicity.co.uk
